Entertainment lawyer Kevin Morris told Capitol Hill lawmakers this past January that he has lent Hunter Biden more than $4.9 million since 2019 to cover housing, car payments, and legal fees.

According to the Daily Caller, a whistleblower has alleged that the CIA prevented Morris from being investigated.

Assistant United States Attorney summoned to CIA headquarters

That claim appeared in an affidavit from IRS official Gary Shapley which was released by the House Ways and Means Committee on Wednesday.

He formerly served as an investigator for the IRS Criminal Division and was tasked with leading a probe of Hunter Biden's tax history.

However, Shapley asserted that he was approached by Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) for Delaware Lesley Wolf in August of 2021.

Wolf allegedly informed Shapley that she and Department of Justice (DOJ) tax attorney Jack Morgan had been summoned to CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

Wolf would not explain why Morris was to be left alone

Shapley recounted how "AUSA Wolf stated that they were provided a classified briefing in relation to Mr. Morris and as a result we could no longer pursue him as a witness."

"Although AUSA Wolf initially appeared to be receptive to facilitating a briefing for me on the information, she ignored multiple attempts by me to arrange the briefing," he continued.

While Shapley maintained that he sought a classified briefing which would give an account of why Morris would not be pursued, his request was turned down.

What's more, Shapley explained that "AUSA Wolf proudly referenced a CIA mug and stated that she purchased some CIA 'swag' at the gift shop while she was there."

Morris can no longer afford to support Hunter Biden

Interestingly, Morris made headlines last week when an individual said to be close with the attorney told Politico that he could no longer afford to financially support Hunter.

"The reason Kevin got involved financially in the first place was that he could see that no one was going to help Hunter," the source explained. "Now, four and a half years later, there's still no help — and now Kevin is completely tapped out."

For his part, Morris later confirmed to Politico that the source's description was accurate but refused to provide additional information.
