Israel preparing to retaliate after Iran ignored Biden's order not to attack

Former President Donald Trump and his supporters have long maintained that President Joe Biden is a feckless presence on the world stage.

The fact that Iran and Israel have publicly ignored orders from Biden appears to have vindicated Biden's claim.

Biden to Iran before weekend attack "Don't"

One example came on Friday, when Reuters reported that Biden warned Iran not to launch an attack on Israel, saying, "Don't."

"We are devoted to the defense of Israel. We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel and Iran will not succeed," Biden went on to declare.

However, that did not stop Iran from launching a barrage of missiles and unmanned drones towards Israel this past weekend, with additional missiles being fired by its Houthi allies in Yemen.

Fox News reported that U.S. forces played a role in helping to defend Israel by shooting down over 80 Iranian drones along with at least six ballistic missiles.

Israeli official warns of retaliation

What's more, Axios revealed on Monday that the Biden administration is urging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold back on retaliating.

White House spokesman John Kirby told reporters that the president "is certainly not looking for a war with Iran and I am confident that Prime Minister Netanyahu is aware of the president's concerns."

However, that demand has apparently fallen on deaf ears given comments on Monday from Gen. Herzi Halevi, who serves as chief of staff for the Israel Defense Forces.

Halevi was quoted as saying that "the launch of so many missiles and drones to Israeli territory will be answered with a retaliation."

Former secretary of state: "'Don't' isn't a national security policy"

Meanwhile, Biden's approach was criticized last week by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who told Fox News, "Well, he said, 'Don't' multiple times, and 'Don't' isn't a national security policy. It's not even a deterrent."

South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsay Graham spoke up as well, saying, "So much for President Biden telling bad guys 'don't' actually being an effective deterrent. Every time he says 'don't,' they do."

"This would not have happened on President Trump's watch, and I hope the American people are closely following just how dangerous the world has become in the last three years," Graham added.
