Israeli authorities open investigation into Benjamin Netanyahu's wife
Fox News reported earlier this month that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu testified in his alleged fraud and corruption case.
The prime minister isn't alone in having legal problems, however, as Israel's first lady recently found herself under investigation as well.
WhatsApp messages appear to show Mrs. Netanyahu trying to intimidate witness
According to the Daily Mail, the Israeli Justice Ministry announced in a statement on Thursday that it will be reviewing the actions of Sara Netanyahu.
That revelation comes in the wake of a report that was recently aired by the Israeli television news program known as "Uvda."
The episode featured multiple WhatsApp messages that appear to show Mrs. Netanyahu directing a former aide to foment protests against political opponents as well as intimidate Hadas Klein, who is a witness in her husband's trial.
The Times of Israel reported in 2022 that Klein, who was a personal assistant to Australian billionaire James Packer, testified about interactions she had with Mrs. Netanyahu.
Mr. Netanyahu claims that allegations against his wife are politically motivated
Klein alleged that the prime minister's wife would sketch drawings of expensive jewelry which Klein would then go out and purchase for her with money provided by Packer.
Meanwhile, CBS News reported that Mr. Netanyahu put out a statement of his own in response to the Justice Ministry's investigation of his wife.

The prime minister began by pointing to what he described as being kind and charitable works on the part of his wife before denouncing "Uvda" for promoting politically motivated "lies."
"My opponents on the left and in the media found a new-old target. They mercilessly attack my wife, Sara," Mr. Netanyahu asserted.
Prosecutors say prime minister received cigars and champagne for favors
The prime minister went on to assert that "Uvda" represents "false propaganda, nasty propaganda that brings up lies from the darkness."
For his part, Mr. Netanyahu has been accused of providing media moguls with wanted regulatory reform in exchange for favorable coverage.
Prosecutors also maintain that a Hollywood producer showered him with tens of thousands of dollars worth of cigars and champagne as a reward for providing personal and business assistance.
The Daily Mail noted how Netanyahu has claimed to not enjoy drinking champagne while not having time to finish any of his cigars as he spends too much time working.
