James Biden to give closed door interview for impeachment probe

James Biden, brother to President Joe Biden, will give a closed-door interview to House Republicans on February 21 as part of an impeachment inquiry into the president.

Mervyn Yan, Rob Walker, and Eric Schwerin have already testified before Congress about their association with the Biden family.

Joey Langston and Tony Bobulinski will also have interviews this month along with Hunter Biden on February 28.

"We look forward to his testimony," House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer said about James Biden.

Following the money?

In particular, House GOP will want to know about payments of $200,000 and $40,000 that James made to his brother closely following foreign payouts to himself and other Biden family members.

He called them "loan repayments," but if he doesn't have documentation to back it up, the payments may be deemed part of a scheme to trade access to Joe Biden for cash to his family, with Joe Biden himself getting a cut of the action.

Hunter Biden caused a scene by refusing to appear in December for a deposition unless it was done publicly instead of behind closed doors, which is procedure.

He then showed up with his lawyers to a hearing markup in January that sought to hold him in contempt for ignoring the subpoena.

After several Republicans berated him and at least one Democrat dared Comer to question him on the spot, Hunter stormed out of the room.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) then called him a coward for leaving before she could question him.

Making a documentary?

It may have all been a stunt; Hunter Biden is reportedly filming a secret documentary about his drug addiction and financial "woes."

While it must be difficult to pay legal bills without the money train from China and Ukraine, House GOP has records of $24 million being paid to Biden family members since 2017.

Maybe the documentary will tell where all that money went, but probably not.

House Republicans are convinced they have the evidence that Joe Biden was involved in a scheme to trade favors for payouts, but Democrats have their heads firmly in the sand and continue to proclaim his innocence and that the evidence is insubstantial.
