NY AG James reveals her 'singular focus' is electing VP Harris, financially ruining former President Trump

New York's Democratic Attorney General Letitia James long ago displayed her partisan bias with a vendetta-like prosecutorial effort against former President Donald Trump and his namesake real estate business empire.

James has now fully confirmed her partisanship with a declaration that her "singular focus" going forward is the successful election of Vice President Kamala Harris in November, according to the Daily Mail.

The top law enforcement official in the Empire State left little doubt that politics is more important to her than justice and the rule of law and seemed to confirm the prior speculation that her concerted efforts to financially and legally destroy Trump and his business interests are motivated purely by partisan considerations.

A highly partisan prosecutor

AG James appeared on MSNBC on Tuesday with host Joy Reid for an interview in which she heralded VP Harris as the prospective Democratic nominee, having replaced President Joe Biden on Sunday, and reiterated her loathing and smears of former President Trump.

"I'm focused at this point in time on securing the nomination for Vice President Harris, and then ultimately getting her elected," James said at one point. "That is my singular focus at this point in time, and continuing to stand up for the rule of law and representing the citizens of the great state of New York, as we do each and every day."

At another point, the prosecutor rattled off a list of priorities for her office that, interestingly enough, didn't appear to include the prosecution of violent criminals in her state.

"Standing up for the LGBTQ community, standing up for reproductive rights, standing up for our environment, standing up for seniors, marginalized and vulnerable populations, standing up for what is right," James explained. "But that's what I do each and every day. And that's what I am focused on, in addition to electing Vice President Kamala Harris."

She went on to praise Harris' prior prosecutorial record as the San Francisco District Attorney and California Attorney General and, unsurprisingly, attacked Trump and his supporters with smears of racism and sexism.

James began her appearance by saying of Republicans and their criticisms of Harris, "They're running very scared, and they have nothing else other than racism and sexism. So when you have nothing else, unfortunately, you just appeal to the racist among us, the white nationalists among us. That's all."

James trying to financially ruin Trump

Meanwhile, at the same time that AG James disclosed that her "singular focus" as New York's top prosecutor was getting the Democratic vice president elected to the White House, Newsweek reported that James has doubled down on her opposition to former President Trump's appeal of the egregious politically motivated civil fraud ruling against him.

James previously sued Trump, his two adult sons, his Trump Organization, and some of the business's top executives over old and hotly disputed claims that they had manipulated the claimed value of various assets to obtain better terms for business loans.

A highly partisan Democratic judge, Arthur Engoron, determined on his own that Trump was guilty of fraud even before the trial was conducted and ultimately ruled that Trump was on the hook for more than $454 million in penalties plus interest that continues to accumulate by the day, even as Trump's appeal of that decision works its way through the system.

In addition to the massive fine that is clearly intended to bankrupt Trump and his namesake organization, the former president, his two adult sons, and other top executives were barred from doing business in the state for several years.

As a response to Trump's appeal, James' office said in a statement, "Once again, the defendants are raising arguments that they were already sanctioned and fined for. We won this case based on the facts and the law, and we are confident we will prevail on appeal."
