Jill Biden set to hit campaign trail for Harris with multi-day swing through battleground states
First lady Jill Biden, once the most prominent surrogate of President Joe Biden's now defunct re-election campaign, hasn't been seen or heard from much over the past few months since her husband dropped out of the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take over as the Democratic nominee.
That is reportedly set to change this weekend as Jill is about to embark on a multi-day swing through several critical battleground states as a surrogate for the Harris campaign, according to Breitbart.
Biden's itinerary from Friday through Tuesday will reportedly take her through the electorally important swing states of Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
Biden headed to Arizona and Nevada
According to The Hill, first lady Biden's appearances on behalf of VP Harris will likely be focused on motivating women voters to turn out for Democrats, as she did previously for President Biden, and she will reportedly key in on issues like abortion and "reproductive rights," strengthening democracy, and bolstering the economy that has been less than stellar over the past few years under the Biden-Harris regime's policies.
Biden's swing state tour in support of Harris will begin in Arizona on Friday with a campaign event in Yuma, followed by another rally in the Phoenix area on Saturday.
On Sunday, per the Nevada Appeal, she will head north to the Silver State for campaign events in Carson City and Reno, though details on those events have not yet been publicized.
The Appeal noted that Reno has received quite a bit of attention lately, as the Democratic vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, was there on Wednesday while the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, will hold a rally in Reno on Friday night.
The "blue wall" of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania
Following the Sunday events in Nevada, the first lady will travel on Monday to Wisconsin for a Harris campaign event in the college town of Madison, according to local Fox affiliate WITI.
First, however, she will make an appearance at a Harris event Monday morning in an unspecified suburb of Detroit in Michigan.
Biden's battleground state tour will wrap up on Tuesday with visits to multiple undisclosed locations in the suburb counties surrounding Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, her hometown, per a report from The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Those counties -- including Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery -- all went for President Biden in 2020, but at least a few of them are thought to be in play and flippable for the Trump campaign, which has necessitated the extra attention from "Philly girl" Biden to shore up Democratic support.
Will play a similar role for Harris as she did for her husband
CNN reported that Jill Biden, after being President Biden's primary campaign surrogate until he ended his re-election bid in July, has all but disappeared from the election cycle since then, save for an endorsement of VP Harris and a brief speech to introduce her husband at the Democratic National Convention in August.
Per the Harris campaign, the deployment of the first lady is intended to help mobilize women voters in the suburbs and her appearances will be similar to what she did previously while campaigning for the president, where she often focused on defending democracy, protecting and expanding abortion rights, the economy, and education.
"As a teacher, mom, and grandmother, the first lady will connect with key constituencies across the country and speak to Vice President Harris’ vision for America," Harris campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez told the outlet. "Dr. Biden’s trusted voice will be crucial in mobilizing the voters we need to win in November."
