As the nation approaches the first anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that resulted in the overturning of Roe v. Wade, top Democrats are coming out of the woodwork to politicize the date.

According to Breitbart, first lady Jill Biden used her pedestal to rile up pro-abortion voters at the White House this week.

She was joined by Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Gender Policy Council Jennifer Klein to discuss the impact of the overturning of Roe.

The decades-old abortion law was overturned last year as a result of the Dobbs v. Jackson ruling, and immediately sparked controversy and praise across the country.

"Far beyond the right"

Biden, joined by other women at the White House Tuesday, stated that the "constitutional right" to abortion services "go far beyond the right to choose."

The Associated Press noted:

The first lady invited the women from Texas, Florida and Louisiana to the White House to help highlight the anniversary Saturday of the Supreme Court decision overturning its 1973 ruling in Roe v. Wade, which established a constitutional right to an abortion.

"The consequences of these bans go far beyond the right to choose," Jill Biden said during the discussion, noting that some doctors are withholding abortion services due to not understanding state laws.

"And like those who are with us today, far, far too many women are experiencing devastating consequences to their health, their fertility and their lives," she added.

The first lady made zero mention of the decades that President Joe Biden spent on the pro-life side of the issue.

"Fighting back"

After hearing stories from the women she invited who were denied abortions, the first lady reassured them that her elderly, often-confused husband and president is doing everything he can to "fight back."

"I know that it isn’t easy to relive what you’ve already gone through, but stories like yours are how we shed light on the cruel and devastating consequences of those bans," Jill Biden said, insisting that Biden is waiting for legislation that he can sign to provide additional abortion services.

There are reportedly additional similar events scheduled throughout the week, as Democrats complain about losing the ability to terminate babies.

The abortion issue is expected to be one of the hot-button issues going into the 2024 election season.
