Joe Biden implicated by bombshell testimony from son's business partner

Democrats were left scrambling for new talking points Monday after Hunter Biden's former business partner, Devon Archer, tied President Biden to his son's international business dealings.

Archer's damning testimony to Congress blew up Biden's claim that he has never spoken to his son about his business dealings. To the contrary, Biden spoke with his son's contacts over the phone at least 20 times, Archer revealed.

Significantly, Archer also tied the Bidens to the firing of Viktor Shokin, the Ukrainian prosecutor whom Biden once bragged about sacking.

Biden nailed

A notorious video from 2018 shows Biden - who held sway over foreign policy in Ukraine during his vice presidency - bragging about coercing Ukraine to fire Shokin on pain of losing foreign aid.

For years, Democrats and their allies have insisted there was nothing untoward in Biden's boast because Shokin was widely seen as corrupt by Western governments.

This absurd pretext came undone Monday when Archer testified that the Ukrainian firm Burisma Holdings lobbied Hunter Biden in December of 2015 to pull strings in Washington D.C. Shokin was investigating Burisma at the time and the company's executives wanted him gone.

Hunter Biden, Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky, and Burisma executive Vadym Pozharski "called D.C." to discuss Shokin, Archer said.

According to Archer, Burisma put Hunter Biden on its board - where he received a lucrative seven-figure salary - in order to access his father's "brand" and the political prestige that came with it. Burisma "would have gone out of business" without its Biden connections, Archer said.

Democrats frantically backpedal

Archer also testified that Joe Biden spoke with his son's business partners on speakerphone at least 20 times. Democrat Dan Goldman (Ny.) beclowned himself by insisting Joe Biden limited these conversations to benign subjects like the weather.

“He described what the weather was,” Goldman said. “It’s kind of a preposterous premise to think that a father should not say hello to people that the son is at dinner with, and that’s literally all the evidence is."

This is, of course, not what Democrats claimed previously - that Biden had no knowledge of his son's business. They're backpedaling.

In any event, Hunter's business partners knew what they were getting, even if they were "talking about the weather" - access to the vice president of the United States.

Even before Archer's testimony, the White House had started backpedaling, saying Biden was "never in business" with his son. What will their next talking point be?
