John Durham confirms FBI should have never launched Trump-Russia probe
Special counsel John Durham said that the FBI should have never launched the Trump-Russia probe, according to a report released on Monday.
Durham's report said that the FBI used "unanalyzed" intelligence to start its investigation that used a different approach than with Hillary Clinton's campaign.

The details
“Based on the review of Crossfire Hurricane and related intelligence activities, we conclude that the (Justice) Department and FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities described in this report,” Durham wrote.
The report also concludes that “at least on the part of certain personnel intimately involved in the matter” there was “a predisposition to open an investigation into Trump.”

The problem
"[A]ll of these senior officials, some of the most powerful people in the federal government, knew as early as the summer of 2016 that the Clinton campaign had a plan to whip up a scandal by falsely alleging collusion between Trump and Moscow," the Federalist reported.
"But all of them ignored this important fact when the FBI launched Crossfire Hurricane around the same time on the basis of far-fetched claims that Trump was a Russian agent — claims that were made in the Steele dossier, a slapdash piece of oppo-research the Clinton campaign itself had paid for," it added.
The facts of the Durham Report are clear: there is a deep rot within the FBI that needs fixing.
But as expected, instead of questioning John Durham in good faith, Democrats have instead decided to accuse and defame him.

"The facts of the Durham Report are clear: there is a deep rot within the FBI that needs fixing," Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) tweeted.
"But as expected, instead of questioning John Durham in good faith, Democrats have instead decided to accuse and defame him," he added.
The report brings some level of closure to the longtime investigation that sought to discredit the former president through the association with the Russian bank.
However, the details also reveal the problems within the FBI to investigate some matters over others that reveal an apparent political bias toward Democrats.
The report may help Republicans as they seek to push back against similar bias in the next election as candidates seek to bring down Biden in 2024.
