John Fetterman denies that Trump is causing a 'constitutional crisis'
In recent weeks, many members of the political left have accused President Donald Trump of precipitating a constitutional crisis.
Yet in a move which is sure to leave his Democratic colleagues seething, Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman is pushing back on the claim.
Fetterman: "There isn’t a constitutional crisis"
That's according to Fox News, which cited comments that Fetterman made to HuffPost during an interview last Wednesday.
Specifically, Fetterman argued that the legal challenges which have been filed against some of Trump's executive orders are no different than similar actions faced by his predecessor.
"When it was [President] Joe Biden, then you [had] a conservative judge jam it up on him, and now we have liberal judges that are going to stop these things. That’s how the process works," Fetterman was quoted as telling HuffPost.
"There isn’t a constitutional crisis, and all of these things — it’s just a lot of noise," the senator continued before adding, "That’s why I’m only going to swing on the strikes."
Fox News noted how Fetterman's remarks came the same day White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt complained that "the real constitutional crisis" lies with the federal judiciary.
Fetterman clashes with Trump over transgender soldiers
While this isn't the first time that Fetterman has come to Trump's defense, he did publicly break with the president last week.
According to The Hill, Fetterman posted a video flip to social media in which he called on Trump to reverse his ban on transgender soldiers.
I want @DeptofDefense to be the most lethal force in human history—I will always vote for that.
I will also never vote to degrade anyone.
It’s not woke shit. It’s the inherent dignity of every servicemember regardless of race, gender, who they love or how they identify.

"I'm standing in front of my office and two flags that are two core values of mine," Fetterman said, referring to the POW/MIA flag and the Progress Pride flag.
Executive order stopped recruiting of transgender individuals
"I am unapologetically pro-military — I believe in a strong, lethal military. But I am also unapologetically pro the LGBTQ community," he added.
The Hill observed how Fetterman's video was put up days after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth released a memo regarding transgender service members.
His memo cited an executive order Trump signed last month which halts the recruiting of transgender soldiers and also prohibits so-called "gender affirming care."
