Johnson pushes Biden to bring back Trump's border policies

Despite Joe Biden's efforts to ignore the southern border crisis, the issue is becoming more and more of a liability to his re-election campaign - and Republicans are eager to press the matter.

In a letter to Biden, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) urged Biden to restore control by reinstating Donald Trump's policies.

"The crisis at our southern border has deteriorated to such an extent that significant action can wait no longer. It must start now, and it must start with you," Johnson said.

Johnson pressures Biden

Despite cold weather, illegal immigrants are continuing to pour across the border at a record pace.

They're coming from every corner of the globe, including Africa and China.

The crisis has become a serious threat to the nation's security - and to Biden's re-election hopes.

Johnson urged Biden to take immediate action, detailing a series of steps to make the border more secure. These include restarting Trump's border wall and restoring asylum restrictions like Trump's "Remain in Mexico" policy.

“You have clearly undermined America’s sovereignty and security by ending the Remain in Mexico policy, reinstating catch-and-release, suspending asylum cooperative agreements with other nations, revoking existing restraints on the abuse of parole, and halting border wall construction," he wrote.

Biden gaslights America

Rather than solve the issue, Biden has persisted in blaming Republicans for blocking legislative reform. Biden even claims he has done "everything he can" to secure the border, a claim Johnson blasted an "insult" to the public.

"The White House’s insistence that ‘the president has done everything that he can on his own’ to secure the border is an insult to the American people," Johnson said in a statement.

"In fact, it has been this administration’s policies – that President Biden can reverse – that have led to the historic crisis we are seeing on a daily basis."

Biden called Mexico's president on Thursday to discuss the border, but the conversation led nowhere substantive.

As Biden continues to dither, Texas' governor, Greg Abbott (R) signed a bill allowing state and local police to arrest illegals. The White House responded with a warning.

Maybe if Biden would do his job, it wouldn't fall to governors to enforce federal immigration law.

Biden is continuing to ignore his duty while he gaslights America to protect himself. He is a disgrace to this nation.
