Joy Behar turned emotional on "The View" as she mentioned the many friends she has lost on the show.

Behar referred to her firing in 2013 which included many of her co-workers who had already left the program.

The comments

“I always have friends where I work, and if I don’t have friends at the job, I will not keep the job,” Behar said.

“So, when I was fired last time from this show, people say to me, ‘Were you okay with that?’ and my answer is, I was happy, because all my friends had left already. So, there was no reason to stay anymore. I mean it," she added.

Behar was one of the original co-hosts of the program with the late Barbara Walters that began in 1997.

The response

Whoopi Goldberg, who was on the program when Behar left, teased her co-host with her own fake tears.

“Really? All your friends left?” Goldberg joked. “It’s OK, I’m cool.”

Behar responded that Goldberg has not been on the program long at that time and that she had lost several friends who worked backstage.

The longtime co-host returned to the show two years later, where she remains a controversial part of the daily discussions on the ABC program. The program added Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro as co-hosts last year where they joined Behar, Goldberg, Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines.

In addition to her anti-Trump views, Behar recently accused Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) of "sacrificing the education of a whole generation of people for his ambition. DeSantis had recently rejected a black history AP course due to material that included LGBT issues and other concerns.

The co-host and her friends at "The View" also recently ripped Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) over her fashion and appearance. She has also been vocal in her opposition to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) being removed from the Foreign Affairs committee over past antisemitic and anti-American remarks.

Behar seems to have a soft side, however, as her emotions showed when discusses the loss of past coworkers who were close to her.
