Last month saw a federal jury in New York City find rap music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs guilty on two counts of transporting someone across state lines for prostitution.

While Combs had hoped to leave the Metropolitan Detention Center prior to sentencing, his judge won't let him go home.

Judge denies Combs' request for bail

According to the New York Post, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian moved on Monday to deny Comb's request for bail.

Subramanian concluded that Combs had failed to demonstrate the existence of "exceptional circumstances" which would warrant a post-conviction bond.

The judge added that Combs' arguments "might have traction in a case that didn’t involve evidence of violence, coercion, or subjugation in connection with the acts of prostitution at issue, but the record here contains evidence of all three."

The Post noted how despite being found guilty of two prostitution charges, he was acquitted on the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

While a conviction could have brought a life sentence, Combs still faces the possibility of ten years behind bars under the Mann Act, a 1910 which prohibits the interstate transport of people for prostitution.

Nevertheless, federal guidelines call for significantly less time, with prosecutors submitting a brief asking that Combs receive a sentence of between 51 and 63 months.

Attorney Douglas Wigdor represents Comb's ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, and he welcomed the guilty verdict, saying, "We're pleased that he’s finally been held responsible for two federal crimes. He still faces substantial jail time."

Combs faces multiple lawsuits from plaintiffs alleging sexual assault

The Post pointed out that Comb's legal problems aren't limited to his criminal conviction, as he also faced a number of civil lawsuits as well.

One lawsuit was filed by a woman using the alias "Jane Doe" who asserts that the music mogul sexually assaulted her 24 years ago.

Another case has been filed by a male model under a "John Doe" alias who maintains that Combs angrily grabbed his buttocks in 2006 while he was auditioning to appear in a music video.

Meanwhile, Justin Gooch has accused Combs of raping him in a bathroom stall when he was 16 years old after plying him with illegal narcotics.
