Judge who blocked Trump EO regarding biological sex on passports has ties to Democrats: Report
President Donald Trump's biggest and most persistent thorn in his side during his second term in office has undoubtedly been the federal judiciary, with judges seemingly lining up to hamstring his policies at every turn.
According to the Daily Caller, a judge who recently blocked the State Department's rule enforcing a Trump executive order "requiring birth-assigned gender on passports" unsurprisingly has ties to the Democratic Party.
U.S. District Judge Julia Kobick, a Massachusetts-based federal judge, ordered a preliminary injunction against the Trump administration for requiring people to list their biological sex on their passports.
Given the judge's ruling, those renewing their passports will still be able to check the "X" box instead of confirming whether they're male or female.
What's going on?
It should also come as no surprise that Kobick was appointed by former President Joe Biden, and it appears she has solid ties to the Democratic Party.

“I cultivate relationships with the fellows and interns, and I served for a year on the Government Bureau’s Racial Equity Working Group,” she wrote in her United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary Questionnaire for Judicial Nominees.
She had clerked for former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and worked for several high-profile Democrats prior to becoming a federal judge.
Before she was nominated, she disclosed that she had worked for several Democratic political campaigns, "including knocking on doors and holding signs for John Kerry’s 2004 presidential run and Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 presidential bid," the Daily Caller reported.
It has also been revealed that she has supported Democratic candidates in local races, painting a clear picture of what her ideology is, which is far from impartial.
The new rule
Trump's executive order regarding the matter was signed on Day One of his second term. The State Department quickly adopted it and posted it on the official State Department website.
“Under the executive order, we will no longer issue U.S. passports or Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBAs) with an X marker. We will only issue passports with an M or F sex marker that match the customer’s biological sex at birth."
It added, “If you submit a passport application requesting an X marker or requesting a sex marker that differs from the sex marker at your birth, you may experience delays getting your passport. You may receive a letter or email requesting more information. We will issue you a new passport that matches your biological sex at birth, based on your supporting documents and our records about your previous passports."
Only time will tell if the judge is overruled by a higher court.
