Kabir Singh, comedian and semifinalist on 'America's Got Talent,' dies at 39
Fans of "America's Got Talent" were crushed this week to learn of the passing of a young and upcoming comedian who was a semifinalist on the show.
According to People, Comedian Kabir Singh, who appeared on season 16 of the popular televised talent show, has died.
He was 39.
His fiancee confirmed the tragic news to the outlet. Singh died on Dec. 4. He was reportedly in San Fransisco at the time of his death.
What happened?
While not much is known about the exact cause of the young comedian's death, sources reported that he was dealing with unknown health issues at the time of his passing.
Officials said a toxicology test was conducted to determine how, exactly, Singh died. TMZ was the first outlet to report the saddening news.
His dear friend, Jeremy Curry, wrote a touching and heartbreaking post regarding Singh's death, also announcing a time and date for the funeral services.
"It’s My Deepest Regrets to let Everyone Know that Kabir Singh has passed away… He passed away peacefully in his sleep and this is the most devastating post I’ve posted….Services will be Saturday December 14 at 8:30 am @ Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward… Please keep his family and fiancé in your thoughts and prayers….I Love you bro," Curry wrote in a Facebook post.
People noted:
Aside from appearing on America's Got Talent in 2021, Singh was also featured on Comedy Central, Family Guy and the BBC, per his Instagram bio. His profile also noted he was still performing standup, as recently as Nov. 2, in Manteca, Calif.
"America's Got Talent" released a statement through its official X account announcing Singh's passing.
"The AGT family is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Kabir Singh, a talented comedian who graced our stage with his undeniable humor. He brought joy and laughter to so many and his incredible talent will be missed," the television show wrote.

Many of Singh's friends and fans mourned his death across social media, paying tribute to his career and his kindness off the stage.
"Rest in power Kabir Singh. Im in shock. He was so talented and funny," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "Omg no way! This makes me so sad. May he rest in peace. What a beautiful soul he was."
