Kamala could be called to testify before Congress in autopen investigation
Former Vice President Kamala Harris might have been able to retreat from the public eye after her very public loss last year, but she hasn’t escaped possible repercussions for the Biden administration.
Currently, Republicans in Washington are working on sorting out whether former President Joe Biden or anyone in his administration misused automated signage or signed things without the president being aware, as The Hill reported.
Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and hinted that he might want to bring Harris in for testimony.
The investigation has already heard testimony from a number of former officials, and it’s not over yet.
Official Topics
Several officials have been brought in via the investigative powers of the committee to testify whether Biden had any physical or mental issues.
There has been a consensus that Biden declined while in office, but the question of how much is still very much up for debate.
There is also a question about who might have spoken or acted for him in too much of an official capacity while he was not mentally capable, and whether his staff covered it up.
From The Chair
Comer said that Kamala could be next on the list, saying it would be “helpful to hear” from her about what she saw and heard while in office.
“We haven’t decided whether or not we’re going to issue the subpoena or not, but certainly she’s welcome to come to the committee,” Comer told reporters.
Comer was much more direct when he was warning the possible witness about being vague in her answers and not offering the committee what they needed to finish the investigation.
“If I were her and wanted to have a political future, I would want to set the record straight on a lot of this stuff, because it’s going to haunt her entire political career, because nobody thinks that Joe Biden was calling the shots in the end,” he said.

Harris hasn’t taken any official role since losing the 2024 presidential election that many believed she would be able to win, if only because of the controversy surrounding President Donald Trump.
However, the former vice president never actually received a single vote in the primary election; she was simply on the ticket with Biden as the headliner, and the campaign was handed to her after Biden stepped down.
