Kamala Harris dodges DNC protesters by heading off to Milwaukee
Chicago has been the scene of loud demonstrations this week as far-left and anti-Israel protesters converged on the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
Perhaps to avoid being humiliated by the unrest, Vice President Kamala Harris headed off to Milwaukee.
Harris speaks at venue where RNC was held
That's according to the New York Post, which reported that Harris spent Tuesday in Wisconsin's largest city touting her economic agenda.
The plan includes $1.7 trillion worth of spending as well as a controversial proposal to have the federal government take control of grocery prices.
Harris was joined by her running mate, Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, at a large rally held in Milwaukee's Fiserv Forum.
The Post noted how this is the same venue that former President Donald Trump addressed delegates to the Republican National Convention (RNC) last month.
GOP hits Walz on his handling of 2020 riots
Interestingly, Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance was also in Wisconsin on Tuesday, where he spoke in the city of Kenosha.
Kenosha was hit with deadly riots in 2020, something which Republican Party of Kenosha County Chair Sandy Wiedmeyer recalled in remarks to the Post.
"With the DNC just south of Kenosha in Chicago and the Harris rally on Tuesday just to the north in Milwaukee, J.D. Vance and the Trump campaign must show Kenosha that they remember that devastating summer and will stand with our city and all cities to protect all Americans," she said.
"J.D. Vance has been very vocal about Tim Walz’s lack of response to the Minneapolis riots," the Kenosha County GOP chair asserted.
"This hits close to home as the people of Kenosha remember all too well both the riots of 2020 that devastated our city and the slow response of our own Governor Evers," she added.
Walz's wife "kept the windows open" to "smell the burning tires"
In addition to highlighting Walz's failure to contain the riots of 2020, some critics have also highlighted a bizarre television interview in which his wife appeared to savor the destruction.
Here is a bizarre clip from an interview with Gwen Walz stating that she left her windows open during the Minneapolis Riots so she could smell the burning tires.
Her daughter also coordinated with rioters to let them know that the National Guard would not be activated one night. pic.twitter.com/ityW100Z4y

"I could smell the burning tires…I kept the windows open as long as I could because I felt like that was such a touchstone of what was happening," Minnesota's first lady said.
