Kamala Harris on 60 Minutes: Joe Biden is 'alive'

After three years of hearing her yammer, it's clear that Vice President Kamala Harris could take over for Captain Obvious in the latest Hotels.com commercial.

She did it again Sunday on 60 Minutes, declaring that President Joe Biden is "very much alive" when she was asked whether she would try to replace him if he withdrew from his re-election bid.

Host Bill Whitaker asked Harris:

We were talking to some Democratic donors, and they have told us that, should something befall President Biden, and he is not able to run, that there would be a free for all for who would run as president. You are in the spot that that would be a natural for you to step up. But we’re hearing from donors that they would not naturally fall into line. Why is that?

She responded, "First of all, I’m not going to engage in that hypothetical because Joe Biden is very much alive and running for re-election."

No one likes her

Never mind that no one said Biden would be dead, just unable to run again. At his age, he could fall and break some bones that require extensive recovery time in bed, have a stroke that leaves him mumbling gibberish even more than he does now, or have a heart attack that rules out what is probably the most stressful job in the world.

If Biden were to die while in office with Harris as his vice president, there would be no argument about what would happen. She would become president (shudder).

As dismal as Biden's approval ratings are, hers are even worse. No one likes her, and she just can't acknowledge it, which makes it even worse.

She deflected Whitaker's question by saying she didn't "have time for parlor games" because there's a campaign to help run, but that's just another way of avoiding the reality that she is exceptionally disliked, even in her own party.

Maybe even more disliked than Hillary Clinton, and that's probably enough to give former President Donald Trump the win in 2024, assuming he is the GOP nominee as seems likely.

Elephant in the room

It's the elephant in the room that no one will directly talk about.

After all, Harris is a Black woman, and it seems almost her right to assume the presidency. It would make history--the first woman and the first Black woman to be president all at once.

Unfortunately, the country would likely be in even worse hands under a Harris administration than under Biden, because her policies on things like climate change and the border would be the same, but her priorities seem to be even more messed up.

If she weren't so inane and patronizing and seemingly unintelligent, the Democrats surely would have yanked Biden already.

Just watch this video of Harris explaining space travel to adults. Could you take four years of this?
