Kamala Harris refuses President Biden's in-person campaign assistance
Vice President Kamala Harris is walking a tenuious line, attempting to woo voters from the independent and "purple" demographic as the final week of the 2024 presidential election roars to life.
Because the hard left and "never Trump" crowd are largely in Harris' hip pocket, the presidential candidate that never received a primary vote is looking to avoid the appearance of being aligned with the 46th president of the United States in an effor to look moderate.
Multiple reports indicate that Harris has no plans to work the campaign in-person with President Joe Biden in the final weeks before Election Day, as the New York Post reported.
The Stiff Arm
According to NBC News, Harris has been trying to separate herself from Biden's administration recently, and officials from the White House and her campaign have verified that she has no plans to appear alongside Biden.
Neither the Biden administration nor the Harris campaign returned journalists' requests for comment.
The New York Times stated that Biden intends to indirectly help Harris by rallying his old backers to put their backing behind her.
Campaign Plan
Despite her position as part of the leadership in the present administration, Harris has spent weeks portraying herself as a candidate for change.
As far as Harris is concerned, her administration would not just be "a continuation of the Biden presidency."
Last Monday, during an exclusive interview, Bret Baier of Fox News pushed Harris to clarify the discrepancies.
"My presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency, and, like every new president that comes in to office, I will bring my life experiences, my professional experiences, and fresh and new ideas. I represent a new generation of leadership," Harris told him.
"I, for example, am someone who has not spent the majority of my career in Washington, D.C. I invite ideas, whether it be from the Republicans who are supporting me, who were just on stage with me minutes ago, and the business sector, and others who can contribute to the decisions that I make," she added.
Trump's Take
In the meantime, former President Trump has stated that Harris will bring nothing but more of the same economic and immigration policies that have made the Biden administration.
According to the surveys, the former president continues to lead in the race over immigration and the economy, and has a strong base among Republican voters.
The former president believes that, should the 2024 election be fair, he will win the necessary 270 electoral votes, without a problem.
