TV star Kim Delaney is testing the theory of whether all press is good press in a big way this week, after news broke that she was arrested and charged due to a recent incident.

A police spokesperson confirmed the arrests of Delaney on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon and her partner, James Morgan, on a charge of domestic violence, as The Daily Mail reported.

The arrests took place after what is believed to have been a domestic dispute. Kim Delaney, who played the role of Detective Diane Russell on NYPD Blue, was taken into custody and charged.

Based on the information provided on the website of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the 63-year-old actress was taken into custody on Saturday, March 29, at 10:15 a.m. local time.

The Arrest

She was taken into custody at her residence in Los Angeles, according to the initial story from TMZ, which cited law enforcement sources.

Morgan, who is Delaney's partner, was taken into custody after what the news site described as a "heated argument that turned physical."

According to TMZ, both Delaney and Morgan were taken to jail after the arrival of paramedics at the site to assess the severity of any damages.

More Details

When reached for comment, the LASD confirmed the arrests, and a spokesperson for the station confirmed that Morgan and Delaney were still in custody as of March 30.

A representative for Delaney did not immediately respond to a request for more information.

Her next court date is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1. According to the LASD website, the LASD detained Morgan about 30 minutes earlier than Delaney and set his bail at $20,000. He is also scheduled in court on April 1.
