Newly leaked emails from Jeffrey Epstein reveal that, at one point, Epstein had actually instructed his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell to "remove" President Donald Trump's name from a "power list."

The emails were obtained by Bloomberg News.

This all comes as the Trump administration continues to face pressure to release all information that the government has about the Epstein case. Trump and Republicans have taken some steps in this direction, but a lot of information is still being withheld.

The emails

OK! Magazine details some of the findings in the emails.

Per the outlet:

On September 14, 2006, Maxwell wrote, “Plse review list and add or remove peeps.” She attached a list of 51 names for Epstein to look over and decide who would be added or removed. When he responded to Maxwell, Epstein told her in two words: “Remove trump.”

The outlet adds that "The reason for the list has not yet been identified, as the email did not include a context in the subject line, nor did it provide additional clues about its purpose."

The outlet goes on to provide more context.

It writes:

The email requesting the removal of Trump’s name was sent two months after Epstein was charged in Florida for the solicitation of a prostitute. One year later, on August 23, 2007, when allegations of Epstein’s involvement with minors were spearheaded, Maxwell sent him an email about who may have disclosed information about the financier’s dealings with underage girls. Again, Trump’s name was mentioned. “You have to assume they went to donald trump,” Maxwell wrote to Epstein without confirming who “they” are. Bloomberg, who obtained the leaked emails, reported that the president’s name was included “three minor” times in the whole cache.

White House response

The Trump White House continues to push back against any attempt to link Trump to Epstein, particularly in a criminal way.

An example came with the recent release of the alleged birthday note that Trump once sent to Epstein.

The New York Post reports:

The full book, provided to Congress by Epstein’s estate, was released by the Republican-led House Oversight Committee on Monday evening after panel Democrats released only the Trump page . . . The president previously denied drafting the page, which included a rough outline of a woman’s naked body and the words, “may every day be another wonderful secret,” and is suing News Corp, The Post’s parent company, after the Wall Street Journal first described the illustration in July.

Trump, for his part, has refused to comment on something that he referred to as "a dead issue."

The White House released a statement, saying:

The latest piece published by the Wall Street Journal PROVES this entire “Birthday Card” story is false. As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it. President Trump’s legal team will continue to aggressively pursue litigation.
