Magazine publishes 'hit piece' on Sen. Fetterman, using his staffers as sources
New York Magazine has just published a hit piece on U.S. Sen. John Fetterman.
The report raises new concerns about the senator's mental health.
What makes this hit piece particularly unique, though, is that the source is members of Fetterman's staff. And, if that is not bad enough, the senator's wife, Gisele, also appears to have played a role.
The article is titled, "All By Himself: John Fetterman insists he is in good health, but staffers past and present say they no longer recognize the man they once knew."
The details
Before going into the article's contents, it is worth remember, as Fox News reports, that "In May 2022, Fetterman suffered a serious stroke mid-Senate campaign against Dr. Mehmet Oz." It took the senator some time to recover.
Another relevant piece of background information, here, is that Fetterman has been very pro-Israel, in its war with Hamas and other terrorists. This is in contrast to some members of his staff and, apparently, his wife.
In New York Magazine's report, staffers reveal several moments that raised concerns about his mental health, such as when he was "nearly struck by a car," or found "wandering" around Capitol Hill.
It appears that Fetterman, eventually, was admitted to Walter Reed Medical Center, and, by the time he checked out, those around him are claiming that he was a different man.
As the magazine put it, he "threw himself into" his Senate job, focusing intently on such issues as the Israel-Hamas conflict and others.
There's more
Now, there very well may be something going on with Fetterman's health. But, what makes this report suspect is the fact that the sources have made it clear that they do not like Fetterman's position on the Israel-Hamas conflict.
It appears that Fetterman's own wife even went behind his back on the issue, talking with staffers about the situation.
The Daily Caller reports:
According to the outlet, Gisele visited her husband’s senate office in November 2023, weeks after Hamas attacked Israel, and got into a heated debate about the burgeoning war and her husband’s support for the Israeli state. Gisele also went behind her husband’s back, reportedly texting staffers in the wake of their fight on multiple occasions.
Gisele is quoted as, on one occasions, writing, "I am at breaking point and I can’t co-sign this any longer. Id love some help in language to separate myself from this. Can anyone help me?"
So, is Fetterman really having health problems, or is his staff and wife simply not happy with his politics, or a little bit of both? We'll leave that for you to decide.
