Mamdani staffer busted for saying 'who gives a s***' about cops' opinion of NYC race
A staffer for Zohran Mamdani's campaign was just caught on camera saying, "who gives a s***," what police officers think about the New York City's mayoral race.
The staffer, according to the New York Post, has been identified as Robert Akleh.
The Post describes Akley as "a progressive political consultant and the citywide canvass manager for the campaign."
In which @ZohranKMamdani’s campaign staff says “who gives a shit” what the @NYPDnews and @NYCPBA think about his defund the police insanity.

"Who gives a s***?"
The remark was caught on hidden camera by an "'undercover' operative for conservative podcaster Steven Crowder." Akleh can be heard responding to a prompt about New York Police Department (NYPD) officers' opinion of Mamdani.
"They’re city employees. You get told what to do, shut up. When did you get an opinion?" he said.
One wonders whether this is the general sentiment in Mamdani's campaign about police officers, and whether this is the kind of treatment of police officers we can expect if Mamdani gets elected.
That's not all. The Post reports, "Video clips cut together and posted online by Crowder also capture the high-ranking field organizer going on tangents about Gov. Kathy Hochul, 'Israel supporting' Democrats and his disgust toward wealthy people."
Akley can be heard saying:
They also don’t understand why everybody hates them. Or why they lose elections now and why they can’t control the narrative anymore. Or why somebody gets popped in the back of the head in Midtown. You’re not treating people fairly
Extremely bad timing
This incident, of course, is bad news for Mamdani's campaign, which has already been facing significant criticism for the candidate's radical, far-left views.
Mamdani has been trying to distance himself from some of these views. We saw this during the recently held debate.
Fox News reports:
Public safety was discussed throughout the debate, with Mamdani's past disparaging comments about police and his calls to defund the New York City Police Department taking center stage. "He believes in defunding the police, disarming the police, disbanding the police," Cuomo said. "That's who he is." Mamdani attempted to distance himself from his past tweets, pointing out that they were from 2020.
The big question for many is whether or not Mamdani has really changed, or whether he still stands behind such beliefs. That is the dilemma for voters.
Mamdani, despite everything, remains the favorite to become New York City's next mayor.
