Earlier this month, death threats were leveled at a high-profile member of President Donald Trump's administration as well as members of her family.

Those threats were taken seriously, with FBI agents swarming the home of a 24-year-old Georgia man late last week.

Violent messages targeted Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard

According to Just the News, Aliakbar Mohammad Amin is alleged to have threatened Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

A press release put out by the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday asserts that Amin sent a series of text messages between March 29 and April 1 to Gabbard as well as her husband.

One stated that the director of national intelligence was "going to die soon" while another read, "I will personally do the job if necessary."

An additional message declared, "The home you two own . . . is a legitimate target and will be hit at a time and place of our choosing." Meanwhile, other texts spoke of how "America will burn."

"The FBI sees all threatening communications as a serious federal offense"

FBI agents took Amin into custody this past Friday, a fact which was addressed by Paul Brown, who serves as special agent in charge of FBI Atlanta.

"The FBI sees all threatening communications as a serious federal offense," Brown was quoted as saying in the DOJ's press release.

"We will employ every investigative tool and resource available to identify those responsible and ensure they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," he pledged.

"Let this arrest serve as a clear warning: if you engage in this kind of criminal behavior, you will be caught and you will go to prison," Brown went on to warn.

Social media images showed firearm pointed at Gabbard and her husband

Richard S. Moultrie Jr. is the Northern District of Georgia's interim U.S. attorney, and he spoke up regarding Amin's arrest as well.

Moultrie pointed out how "[t]hreatening to harm public officials is a criminal act that cannot be excused as political discourse."

"Our Office, in coordination with our law enforcement partners, will vigorously prosecute individuals who commit these acts of violence," the interim U.S. attorney further added.

A search of Amin's home uncovered a firearm along with social media images in which a firearm could be seen pointed at Gabbard and her husband.
