The Trump family had a bizarre situation at Mar-a-Lago this week after a madman trespassed on the resort property early on Tuesday morning before he was apprehended by police.

According to The Hill, the Palm Beach Police Department arrested Anthony Thomas Reyes, 23, charging him with "unlawfully entering" the Mar-a-Lago compound.

The man, who said he only wanted to "spread the gospel" at Mar-a-Lago and marry President Donald Trump's granddaughter, Kai Trump, was initially apprehended by U.S. Secret Service personnel.

Luckily, no one under Secret Service protection, including the president or his family members, was present during the bizarre break-in.

What happened?

The whackjob admitted to police that he was there to spread the gospel to President Trump and his family and also to see about marrying Kai Trump, who just recently turned 18, according to the police report.

The Secret Service issued a press release regarding the incident:

“Shortly after midnight, the individual scaled a perimeter fence and triggered alarms. U.S. Secret Service personnel detained him without incident at the scene. Palm Beach Police officers responded to the scene and took the individual into custody, charging him with occupied trespassing,” the Secret Service told The Hill.

Oddly enough, it wasn't his first time getting in trouble for breaching the compound.

The Hill noted:

Reyes was previously arrested and accused of trespassing at Mar-a-Lago on New Year’s Eve in 2024, according to the police report. Court records show Reyes was booked at the Palm Beach County Jail. He pleaded not guilty. The bond was set at $50,000, and the judge ordered him not to have contact with the president or any of his family members.

Social media reacts

Users across social media reacted to the situation.

"CREEPY! Kai should have at least 20 bodyguards at all times," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "How is it possible for someone to scale the wall and Secret Service doesn't know about until they catch him on the grounds and he explains how he got in? After two assassination attempts they should know the second any wacko is within a mile of MAL."

One would think by now that nobody would be allowed within a country mile of Mar-a-Lago if they're not known.
