Man who said he wanted to marry Trump's daughter arrested at Mar-a-Lago resort
As one of President Donald Trump's official residences, the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida has a heavy law enforcement presence.
Some of those officers were recently sprung into action when a man attempted to breach the resort's perimeter.
Intruder sought to marry president's granddaughter
According to Fox News, Anthony Thomas Reyes was taken into custody on June 3 and told authorities that he wanted to share the gospel with Trump as well as marry his granddaughter, 18-year-old Kai Madison Trump.
"An adult male was arrested early Tuesday morning by the Palm Beach Police Department for unlawfully entering the Mar-a-Lago Club property in Florida," a statement provided by the U.S. Secret Service read.

The statement explained that "[s]hortly after midnight, the individual scaled a perimeter fence and triggered alarms."
"U.S. Secret Service personnel detained him without incident at the scene. Palm Beach Police officers responded to the scene and took the individual into custody, charging him with occupied trespassing," the statement added.
Reyes previously tried to enter Mar-a-Lago on New Year's Eve
Palm Beach Daily News reported that Reyes is being represented by the Palm Beach County Public Defender's office initially given a $1,000 bond, but this figure was subsequently raised to $50,000.
During his June 3 court appearance, Reyes was instructed by Judge Daliah Weiss Weiss not to contact the president, Kai Trump, any other member of the Trump family, as well as witnesses to his arrest.
What's more, Reyes was also ordered to stay away from all of the president's properties and not to possess firearms or other weapons.
The Daily News noted that this is not the first time that Reyes has attempted to unlawfully enter Mar-a-Lago, as he also did so on December 31, 2024, which resulted in a trespass warning.
Security zone established following attempt to assassinate Trump
The security zone which Reyes breached was established last year after a man allegedly attempted to assassinate the president at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.
A press release put out by the Department of Justice (DOJ) this past September explained that 58-year-old Hawaii resident Ryan Wesley Routh had been indicted for attempted assassination of a presidential candidate.
“Violence targeting public officials endangers everything our country stands for, and the Department of Justice will use every available tool to hold Ryan Routh accountable for the attempted assassination of former President Trump charged in the indictment," then Attorney General Merrick Garland declared.
