March data shows that sales of new family homes was stronger than expected
Throughout the course of last year's campaign, President Donald Trump ran in part on a promise to restore America's economic vitality.
While Trump's opponents scoffed, recently released data from the U.S. Census Bureau and Department of Housing and Urban Development is helping to vindicate the president's pledge.
Unexpected spike in sales of new family homes
According to Breitbart, the sale of new single-family homes increased last month well beyond what most observers had expected.
Sales of new single-family houses in March 2025 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 724,000. This is 7.4% above the revised February 2025 estimate of 674,000.

A press release put out by the U.S. Census Bureau on Wednesday explained that March saw "a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 724,000."
That figure represents a 7.4% increase over the 674,000 homes that were sold in February, as well as a 6% improvement from the 683,000 sold in March of last year.
Interestingly, a poll of economists, which had been carried out by Reuters, predicted that only 680,000 new homes would be sold last month.
President attacks Fed chairman for not cutting interest rates
The news comes just days after President Trump voiced frustration with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell over interest rates.
"''Preemptive Cuts' in Interest Rates are being called for by many. With Energy Costs way down, food prices (including Biden’s egg disaster!) substantially lower, and most other 'things' trending down, there is virtually No Inflation," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Monday.
"With these costs trending so nicely downward, just what I predicted they would do, there can almost be no inflation, but there can be a SLOWING of the economy unless Mr. Too Late, a major loser, lowers interest rates, NOW. Europe has already 'lowered' seven times," the president asserted.
What's more, the president accused Powell of having timed an interest rate cut last year in order to favor his Democratic opponents.
Trump says he has "no intention" of firing Powell
"Powell has always been 'To Late,' except when it came to the Election period when he lowered in order to help Sleepy Joe Biden, later Kamala, get elected. How did that work out?" he demanded.
Nevertheless, Breitbart reported that Trump later told reporters he had "no intention" of firing Powell, stating, "The press runs away with things."
Yet the president was quick to add, "I would like to see him be a little more active in terms of his idea to lower interest rates. This is a perfect time to lower interest rates."
