Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has long been known as one of President Donald Trump's most vocal defenders.

Yet in a surprising move, Greene recently accused the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans of betraying their voters.

Greene" "I'm frustrated and upset over the direction of things"

According to the Washington Examiner,  Greene leveled that allegation in a lengthy social media post put up this past Friday.

"I represent the base and when I’m frustrated and upset over the direction of things, you better be clear, the base is not happy," the Georgia congress woman wrote.

"I campaigned for no more foreign wars. And now we are supposedly on the verge of going to war with Iran," Greene complained.

Congresswoman expresses alarm over Iran and Ukraine

"I don’t think we should be bombing foreign countries on behalf of other foreign countries especially when they have their own nuclear weapons and massive military strength," she added.

Greene's comments were apparently made regarding Trump's threat late last month that he would "very willingly" attack Iran if the country's regime would not agree to end its nuclear weapons program.

The representative also took issue with the mineral agreement that the White House is pursuing with Ukraine, suggesting that it could lead to U.S. troops in the Eastern European country.

"Why don’t we just mine our own rare earth minerals that are tied up on federal lands that the government confiscated years ago?" she demanded.

Greene went on to list other grievances, including those relating to vaccine policy and Congress' failure to make cuts by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) permanent.

Greene praises Trump's record on securing the border

"When you are losing MTG, you are losing the base. And Trump isn’t on the ballot in the future, so do the math on that," Greene said as she drew to a close.

However, Greene did offer words of praise for the Trump administration last week over its success at securing America's southern border.

Fox News quoted Greene as saying that progress on the border has been "absolutely incredible," adding, "Many Americans are so thankful, and they feel the difference. People feel safe again."
