Mark Robinson has been rushed to the hospital.

CNN reports that Robinson, the Trump-endorsed Republican candidate who is running to become the next governor of North Carolina, was taken to the hospital on Saturday.

It appears that Robinson injured himself at a truck show.

This all comes as Robinson has found himself at the center of a major scandal, and as Trump is facing calls to take back his endorsement of the gubernatorial candidate.

Here is what we know:

According to CNN's report, Robinson was taken to the hospital have he burned himself on a "big rig."

Per the outlet:

North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson was treated for second-degree burns Friday after he burned his hand on a “big rig” he was riding in at the Mayberry Truck Show and Parade in Mount Airy, he told supporters at a Saturday campaign event.

The outlet goes on to quote Robinson explaining how the accident took place.

He said:

I was getting out of the truck and several of my fans and supporters were coming around the truck. I was trying to get out without running into them and doggone if I didn’t lay my hand on that tailpipe, the exhaust pipe.

At the hospital, Robinson's second-degree burns were successfully treated, and he was released. Robinson said that he is "just fine," and is expected to make a full recovery.

Can the same be said about his campaign?

At the moment, the answer is unclear. Although Robinson is fighting to keep his campaign afloat, he continues to face significant pressure to step aside following the scandal that he found himself at the center of.

The scandal was first reported by CNN.

Per the outlet:

Mark Robinson, the controversial and socially conservative Republican nominee for governor of North Carolina, made a series of inflammatory comments on a pornography website’s message board more than a decade ago, in which he referred to himself as a “black NAZI!” and expressed support for reinstating slavery, a CNN KFile investigation found.

Robinson has denied the report, and he has even threatened to sue CNN over it. In the meantime, he has vowed to push forward with his campaign.

Trump has also been facing pressure to pull his endorsement of Robinson, but it does not appear as though the former president is ready to do so just yet. In response to such a question, Trump recently replied, "I don't know the situation."
