Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding, hailed as a storybook affair, bore an unexpected twist, according to Markle's former "Suits" co-star, Rick Hoffman.

Hoffman, renowned for his role in the hit USA Network series, shared during the "Chicks in the Office" podcast an anecdote about an unpleasant scent that disrupted the ceremony's ambiance.

The details

As Hoffman settled into his seat, he detected a foul odor permeating the air, prompting a series of comically distressing facial expressions captured on camera.

"There's still air, and as time goes on, I’m starting to smell something really terrible and foul," Hoffman recounted. Initially attributing the stench to someone's bad breath, he soon realized it was more pervasive.

To safeguard his reputation for impeccable hygiene, Hoffman discreetly consulted his "Suits" colleagues, only to discover they were unaffected by the odor.

"So now I'm, like, literally by myself, alone on an island, and I'm just going, 'Mother...'" he humorously described. Despite the unpleasant distraction, Hoffman reminisced on the wedding's enchanting atmosphere, with thousands of spectators witnessing the royal union.

Rumors grow

The hosts playfully suggested Markle strategically seated Hoffman near the source of the odor, to which Hoffman responded with amusement, labeling the situation "ironic."

Despite the unexpected olfactory disturbance, Hoffman emphasized the event's significance, describing it as "incredibly special."

Following the conclusion of "Suits," the cast reunited for two Super Bowl commercials, with Hoffman and Sarah Rafferty featuring in an e.l.f makeup brand ad, and Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht appearing in a T-Mobile commercial.

It's not over yet

In a subsequent interview, Adams and Macht disclosed limited contact with Markle since the show's resurgence. While acknowledging her support, they humorously feigned receiving calls from her, underscoring the cordial but distant nature of their interactions.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry recently engaged in wheelchair curling during a visit to Canada, where "Suits" was filmed, and where the couple temporarily resided post-royal departure. Singer Michael Bublé serenaded him with a personalized rendition of Frank Sinatra's "My Way," praising Harry's Invictus Games initiative and extending well wishes to his father, King Charles III.

The episode offered a glimpse into the intricacies of royal life and celebrity dynamics, showcasing both the enchanting moments and unexpected challenges that accompany such high-profile events.

Through humor, Hoffman's anecdote underscored the concern behind the glitz and glamour of royal ceremonies, offering a wild perspective on the royal wedding.
