President Donald Trump raised eyebrows last month when he underwent an MRI at Walter Reed National Military Center in Maryland.

However, this week saw White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt deny that there is any cause for concern and state that the president's health is "exceptional."

Leavitt: Medical experts agree that Trump is "in exceptional physical health"

According to Fox News, the White House press secretary made that declaration while addressing reporters during a briefing on Wednesday.

"As stated in the memo provided on October 10th, President Trump received advanced imaging at Walter Reed Medical Center as part of his routine physical examination," Leavitt was quoted as saying.

"The full results were reviewed by attending radiologists and consultants, and all agreed that President Trump remains in exceptional physical health," she continued.

"I know all of you will see with your own eyes later this evening when he opens up his dinner to the press, and perhaps you will see him when he signs the bill to reopen the federal government. So stay tuned on plans for that," Leavitt added.

MRI was carried out as part of Trump's health maintenance plan

Fox News noted how the memo was authored by Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbabella, who serves as the president's personal physician.

The document explained that Trump's MRI was part of a health maintenance plan, which includes "advanced imaging, laboratory testing and preventative health assessments conducted by a multidisciplinary team of specialists."

Barbabella further observed that Trump, "remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance."

Trump was diagnosed in July with a "benign" case of chronic venous insufficiency

Fox News recalled how the president had earlier spoken to reporters about the MRI aboard Air Force One, saying, "I got an MRI, it was perfect."

"I gave you the full results. We had an MRI, and the machine, you know, the whole thing, and it was perfect," Trump went on to assert.

This is not the first time that questions have been raised concerning the president's wellbeing, as he was diagnosed in July with chronic venous insufficiency.

As CBS News reported, that diagnosis came after the president noticed mild swelling in his legs. An examination by Barbabella found the condition to be "benign" with no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.
