Meghan Markle is once again at the center of controversy, this time due to allegations that she was caught having others conduct interviews for her podcast.

The Wall Street Journal revealed last week that Spotify had opted not to renew Markle's "Archetypes" podcast, citing unnamed sources as saying that she had failed to meet the productivity benchmarks of her $20 million deal.

Spotify executive calls Markle and husband "f--king grifters"

Moreover, The Guardian reported on Monday that Spotify executive Bill Simmons recently lashed out at Markle and her husband Prince Harry, decrying the pair as "f--king grifters."

This was followed by the website Podnews announcing on Tuesday that "multiple sources" have said Markle had staff members interview guests and then edit in her questions afterward.

Andy Scott is a former editor at Gimlet Media, the company which produced "Archetypes," and he addressed the matter in a tweet.

Former producer denies that Markle's questions were edited in

Newsweek noted that while Scott acknowledged that interviews were sometimes conducted by producers, Markle's questions were never edited into any of them.

However, some Twitter users expressed skepticism over that claim, with one posting a clip from an interview with Iranian American actress Shohreh Aghdashloo.

"What about this?" the Twitter user asked. "Was she talking to Shohreh Aghdashloo live? Doesn’t seem like it .. she has an initial question then a 'wow' interjection at the end."

Questions over whether Prince Harry disclosed drug use on visa application

Meanwhile, Markle's husband has also been in the news over questions about whether he disclosed his publicly acknowledged drug use when applying for a visa.

Professor Alberto Benítez is head of George Washington University’s Immigration Clinic, and he told The Telegraph that Harry "would have been asked [about drug abuse when applying for his visa]."

"If he was truthful in his answers, he should have been denied," the legal expert said. However, if the prince was not truthful then "he’ll be subject to being revoked because he lied in the application process."
