A new profile from Vanity Fair describes Meghan Markle as the equivalent of "a Mean Girls teenager."

The report is titled, Inside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Big Business Ambitions, 5 Years After Their Royal Exit.

The report, in part, touches upon Markle's interaction with her employees. Apparently, she is not the best boss.

As we will see, the report has prompted a response from Markle.

"A Mean Girls teenager"

According to the profile, Markle would turn on employees soon after hiring them.

The Daily Mail reports:

The Duchess of Sussex would reportedly be 'warm and effusive' towards employees at the start before turning 'cold and withholding toward the person she perceived to be responsible' when something 'went poorly, often due to Meghan and Harry’s own demands'.

Vanity Fair spoke with some of these individuals about the situation. It specifically spoke with "multiple sources who have worked for the Sussexes since they quit Britain five years ago."

One individual told the outlet:

She’s constantly playing checkers - I’m not even going to say chess - but she’s just very aware of where everybody is on her board. And when you are not in, you are to be thrown to the wolves at any given moment.

By "thrown to the wolves," what the source meant was "undermining behavior," including "Mean Girls" type things.

Markle responds

Now, there is something surprising about all of this - and it is not Markle's treatment of her employees. That was to be expected. Rather, the surprising bit is that this actually came from Vanity Fair, which has generally been on Markle's side.

The Daily Mail suggests:

Vanity Fair's damning dissection of the Sussexes' five years in America could have its roots in a row that allegedly began with Meghan's 2017 cover story in which she officially announced to the world she was 'in love' with Harry.

Whatever the reasoning behind the hit piece may be, it is clear that it has touched a nerve with Markle - although she is now trying to shrug it off as though it is no big deal.

The Times reports:

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are understood to have dismissed allegations against them reported in a Vanity Fair article that sources close to the couple described as distressing . . . Sources close to the Sussexes said that previous employees had gone on record in the past to dispute the claims made in the article. The Sussexes declined to be interviewed for the Vanity Fair article and did not respond to a request to comment when approached by The Times.
