Melania Trump addresses allegations that her son has autism in new book
Former First Lady Melania Trump has frequently been the target of attacks, with critics mocking her accent and even suggesting that she "hates Christmas."
However, the former first lady recently revealed that she is far more bothered by those who go after her son Barron.
Rosie O'Donnell posted video suggesting that Barron suffers from autistism
According to the Independent, Mrs. Trump addressed rumors about her son being autistic in a newly released memoir titled "Melania."
The former first lady at one point recalled how in 2016, television personality Rosie O’Donnell shared a video on social media which portrayed Barron as exhibiting traits associated with autism.
"Barron’s experience of being bullied both online and in real life following the incident is a clear indication of the irreparable damage caused," Mrs. Trump wrote.
"There is nothing shameful about autism (though O’Donnell’s tweet implied that there was), but Barron is not autistic," his mother explained.
The former first lady went on to accuse O'Donnell of engaging in "sheer malice" and added that she "was appalled by such cruelty."
"She was attacking my son because she didn't like my husband"
While O'Donnell attempted to justify the since-deleted post by claiming that she wanted to raise awareness about those with autism, the former first lady doesn't believe that.
"It was clear to me that she was not interested in raising awareness about autism. I felt that she was attacking my son because she didn't like my husband," Mrs. Trump complained.
"Someone had painstakingly compiled the footage and added captions like, 'His hands are moving erratically and aren't touching each other," she said of the video clip. "Then he was spotted making strange movements in his seat, typical of children with autism.'"
O'Donnells' post regarding Barron isn't the only controversial subject which Mrs. Trump addressed in her book, as she also spoke of the FBI's raid on her house last year as part of Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation into the alleged mishandling of classified documents.
Mrs. Trump says FBI raid "serves as a warning to all Americans"
"I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America," she declared. "The FBI raided my home in Florida and searched through my personal belongings."

"This is not just my story, it serves as a warning to all Americans, a reminder that our freedom and rights must be respected," Mrs. Trump continued.
