The nation waits in great anticipation for the Trump family's return to Washington, and the former -- and future -- first lady recently offered some insight on how she believes things may go.

Sitting down for her first interview since her husband's impressive Nov. 5 win, Mrs. Trump discussed plans for her second tenure in the White House and praised her son Barron for the role he played in the president-elect's victory, as The Wrap reports.

Melania speaks on Fox News

Last week, Mrs. Trump joined Fox News for a chat about her husband's upcoming term in the Oval Office and what she believes may be different from their prior years in D.C.

“Well, this time is very different because we already know where we are going,” Melania Trump explained.

Suggesting that she was sufficiently familiar with the premises to plan the move from afar, she added, “And we have all of the plans from before, so we don't need to go back in,” in what was perhaps a reference to her decision to decline an invitation from current first lady Jill Biden for a post-election visit.

“My team is in contact with the White House, so that's a plus, but we have all what need. So this is the second time. So, it's nothing new,” Mrs. Trump mused.

Underscoring her past experience as the nation's first lady, Mrs. Trump explained, “I know what you need to establish, you know what kind of people you need to hire that, to be in your office, so that's what I'm doing now. It's incredible and we are very, very busy. We can start on Day 1.”

Insights into Barron

The incoming first lady also took time to provide thoughts on the role her son Barron played in her husband's electoral triumph, one of which political observers from both sides of the aisle have taken note.

“He is a grown young man, I'm very proud of him about his knowledge, even about politics and giving advice to his father,” Mrs. Trump began.

She continued, “He brought in so m any young people, he knows his generation.”

Elaborating on Barron Trump's advice that urged his father to participate in interviews with notable podcast hosts that have not traditionally been part of the presidential campaign trail, Melania Trump said, “Because nowadays, the young generation, they don't sit in front of TV anymore, they're all on their tablets, they're on their phones, and all of this these podcasts and streamers.”

“He was very vocal, and he gave advice to his father and was incredible how he brought in a success because he knew exactly who his father needs to contact and to talk to,” she noted.

A star is born?

After living his life largely in private for many years, Barron Trump stepped into the political fray to a greater degree than ever before during the 2024 election cycle, despite having just begun his freshman year at New York University's Stern School of Business, as USA Today noted.

“I don't think it's possible for him to be a normal student,” Barron's proud mother opined. “His experience at college, it's very different than any other kid. And I'm very proud how he's handling, he's very strong,” she added, and given the intense public interest that has developed around the former – and future – first son, the eyes of the world are sure to remain trained on what he decides to do next.
