Melania Trump released a rare public statement addressing rumors in the media about her absence from her husband's recent post-indictment speech.

Former President Trump traveled to his native New York last Tuesday to be arraigned over "hush money" payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, who alleges she slept with Trump shortly after his marriage to Melania.

The former FLOTUS wasn't present when Trump gave a defiant post-arraignment speech at Mar-A-Lago, which led to rumors in the press.

Melania dismisses latest rumors

Melania Trump didn't directly mention her absence anywhere in the statement, which pushed back on "assumptions" from anonymous sources.

“News organizations have made assumptions about the former First Lady’s stance on subjects that are personal, professional, and political over the past few weeks,” the statement began. “In these articles, unnamed sources are cited to bolster the author’s claims.”

The statement asked readers "to exercise caution and good judgment when determining whether or not stories concerning the former First Lady are accurate, particularly when they fail to cite Mrs. Trump as a source of information."

During her husband's presidency, Melania was often the target of rumors in the press that she was a reluctant wife and first lady.

Her husband's indictment renewed those rumors, with one piece in People claiming Melania is "angry" and not at all supportive of her husband.

Not leaving Donald

Granted, it's hard to imagine Melania is thrilled to see stories about her husband's alleged affair with a porn star back in the headlines, but Melania is also known to be fiercely loyal to her husband -- who she has supported through years of unrelenting "witch hunts."

A former friend and aide told PageSix that Melania is "angry", but she will stand by her husband's side.

"She will stand by her husband, as she always does,” former aide Stephanie Wolkoff added. “I don’t think Melania is humiliated by his affairs — but she is angry. Still she isn’t leaving him.”

Wolkoff said Melania knows all about her husband's lecherous conduct, and that she uses her "silence" to protect her dignity.

"Her silence is deliberate, it is her weapon of choice and her protective armor. Of course she knows about Donald’s affairs, she knows everything. But her silence is her dignity.”
