Melania Trump offers condolences to family members of those killed in recent terror attack
Americans were appalled earlier this week when a man drove a truck through a New Year's Eve celebration, leaving 14 people murdered.
Despite being one of the Trump family's quieter members, incoming First Lady Melania Trump directed a rare public statement towards the victims' heartbroken relatives.
Thoughts extended to those "experiencing such profound grief and loss"
According to The Daily Beast, Mrs. Trump extended her condolences on social media, writing, The incidents of violence that have impacted our communities are deeply concerning. The brutality must stop."

"My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the families who are experiencing such profound grief and loss," the soon-to-be first lady continued before adding, "Let us strive for a future where peace prevails."
Mrs. Trump was the only one speaking out, as Breitbart noted that her husband spoke up as well in a statement of his own.
President-elect Trump pledges to "fully support the City of New Orleans"
"Our hearts are with all of the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New Orleans Police Department," President-elect Donald Trump declared.
He went on to pledge that "[t]he Trump Administration will fully support the City of New Orleans as they investigate and recover from this act of pure evil!"
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden released remarks in which he confirmed that the attack was an act of terror despite an initial denial by the FBI.
"The FBI is taking the lead in the investigation and is investigating this incident as an act of terrorism," Biden said before expressing gratitude "for the brave and swift response of local law enforcement in preventing even greater death and injury."
Perpetrator served for 10 years in the Army
For its part, the FBI announced that the attack perpetrator has been identified as 42-year-old U.S. citizen Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who was fatally shot by police.
The electric pickup truck Jabbar used had been outfitted with an ISIS flag, a fact which has prompted the FBI to examine "potential associations and affiliations with terrorist organizations."
What's more, the New York Post reported that Jabbar spent roughly a decade serving as a soldier in the U.S. Army, time which included an 11-month deployment to Afghanistan.
At the time he launched the attack, Jabbar was living in a "squalid" home in Houston where he kept goats and chickens in his yard.
