Melania Trump promises 'to clarify the facts' in an upcoming book
Former First Lady Melania Trump has had relatively little to say since her husband's presidency came to an end in January of 2021.
Yet in a surprising turn of events, the former first lady is promising to express her thoughts and spill new details in a new book.
"I believe it is important to share my perspective"
According to the Associated Press, Mrs. Trump's memoir is simply titled "Melania" and will be available for purchase early next month.
My Story.
My Perspective.
The Truth. https://t.co/ZCTwZSqZND pic.twitter.com/HHGQaA6d5v— MELANIA TRUMP (@MELANIATRUMP) September 5, 2024
"As a private person who has often been the subject of public scrutiny and misrepresentation. I feel a responsibility to clarify the facts," the news service quoted her as saying.
The former first lady pledged that she will deliver "the truth," stating, "I believe it is important to share my perspective."
"I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America"
The book will cover a number of topics, including the FBI's raid on her home two years ago. She remarked, "I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America."
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff is a former friend of and advisor to Mrs. Trump who now supports the Democratic Party's nominee, and she said that the memoir's timing is no accident.
"She is capitalizing on the time she has left before the election," Wolkoff declared. "Her [market] value is gone if she is no longer a prospective first lady."
Wolkoff went on to predict that should Vice President Kamala Harris be victorious in November then "people will want to move on."
Mrs. Trump put on a successful fundraiser at her New York home
While Mrs. Trump has largely stayed out of politics, she did release a statement after her husband's first assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally earlier this year.
In it, she praised the former president for being "the generous and caring man who I have been with through the best of times and the worst of times."
His shooting came less than a week after the former first lady had hosted a fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans at Trump Tower which reportedly brought in a total of $1.4 million.
Page Six noted that Mrs. Trump was adorned in "fire engine red Valentino dress with appliqué flowers in the same fabric and Christian Louboutin pumps," an outfit which left those in attendance "stunned."
