Melania Trump is making her family proud as she embraces a more public role than the country has seen from her.

The glamorous First Lady has signed a $40 million deal with Amazon for a documentary about her fascinating life story - from her origins in Slovenia to her modeling career in New York and marriage to future president Donald Trump.

According to Page Six, Amazon outbid Disney for licensing rights to the movie, which will feature cameos from Melania's son, Barron, and husband Donald.

Melania's $40 million deal

The Amazon deal is the latest sign that Melania is beginning to embrace the spotlight as her husband returns to the White House with newfound popularity - and former critics, like Amazon's Jeff Bezos, seek to get on his good side.

Long considered an elusive figure, Melania came into her own in 2024 with her first, self-titled memoir, a New York Times best seller. She will be an executive producer for her Amazon movie, lending her creative control over her personal narrative.

“She’s been very savvy about what she says … Melania has gotten more comfortable speaking in front of people and on TV,” a source told PageSix. “She is more confident and has taken full control of her public image which she knows is worth millions and she’s ready to be paid for the work she puts into the doc and revealing more about herself.”

The documentary will be directed by Rush Hour director Brett Ratner and will be released later this year. According to PageSix's source, Melania will receive a portion of the profits.

“I’m also told her deal also gives her a piece of the backend, and that her husband helped structure the project,” the source said.

Bezos curries favor

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos had previously outraged Democrats by refusing to use his newspaper, the Washington Post, to boost Kamala Harris' failed presidential bid in 2024.

The Post was a principal player in the anti-Trump "resistance" during Trump's first presidential term, and Trump often clashed with "Jeff Bozo" over the paper's hostile coverage.

But Trump's historic comeback has brought a resurgence of interest in the Trump family - and a recognition by major players in media and tech that Trump's appeal can no longer be dismissed.

Melania's mysterious appeal

Melania has done plenty to fuel interest in her story. In an era of overexposed social media "influencers" and low-class celebrities, her private nature has helped to build anticipation for her personal projects.

"Melania has carefully limited and controlled both her image and access to her –– which has driven public interest,” the PageSix source said.

“By being removed from constant public exposure and being mysterious, she’s driven up both interest in her everyday life, and this has driven up her price.
