First Lady Melania Trump recently decided to skip the baby shower of Tiffany Trump. 

The Daily Mail reports that the first lady, instead, decided to spend time with her son, Barron Trump.

While Barron Trump is indeed the son of President Donald Trump and the First Lady, Tiffany is the daughter of the president and his second wife, Marla Maples. Tiffany is the president's youngest daughter.

Still, even though Melania is not her biological mother, many find it strange that she decided to skip the baby shower.

President Donald Trump’s younger daughter, Tiffany Trump, celebrated her baby shower on Sunday, April 6, with the help of some of the important women in her family. Tiffany, 31, is currently expecting her first child with husband Michael Boulos. After their Peter Rabbit-themed shower, the couple publicly revealed that they are having a baby boy.

Tiffany’s older half-sister, Ivanka Trump, hosted the event in Miami, with a Florida source telling PEOPLE that the two have a “close relationship.” However, PEOPLE confirms that neither Tiffany’s father nor her stepmother, first lady Melania Trump, were present at the celebration — a detail that the source says isn't "surprising."

The big question, of course, was why her parents did not attend.

The reason Trump was not there has not been reported, but it is likely the obvious one - that he is the president of the United States and it is not so easy to find time to attend such an event.

With regard to Melania, however, it appears to be a different story.

The source adds that there wasn't “any reason” for Melania to attend Tiffany’s shower, noting that the first lady — who began dating Donald when Tiffany was about 5 — “has her own schedule, even on weekends." PEOPLE is told that Melania was busy with her 19-year-old son, Barron Trump, over the weekend.

This, also, should not come as that much of a surprise. It is well-known that the First Lady has been prioritizing spending time with her son, who is currently attending college in New York. She has been spending a significant amount of time away from the White House for this reason.

None of this, however, seemed to bother Tiffany that much. People reports that she was "excited" and "glowing."
