One can fully understand why former First Lady Melania Trump would be angry about a first and especially second attempt on her husband's life.

According to the Washington Examiner, Melania Trump, in a recent interview regarding her upcoming memoir, revealed that she blames the media and Democrats for the continued violent anti-Trump rhetoric that has nearly cost her husband his life on two recent occasions.

In the interview, which aired on Fox News last Thursday, the former first lady also praised U.S. Secret Service members for their efforts to keep her family safe, especially in the wake of the assassination attempts.

She held nothing back in saying the mainstream media and Democrats were responsible for "fueling a toxic atmosphere" that nearly led to Mr. Trump's death.

What did she say?

While the Secret Service has taken a load of criticism for allowing gunmen to get within range of the former president, Melania focused on the agents on the ground who were around Donald Trump when a gunman took a shot at him in Pennsylvania.

"The guys that were with him, they were fantastic. And I think both of the events, they were really miracles if you really think about it," Melania said, adding that she believes his protection was divine intervention.

"I think it’s almost like [the] country really needs him," the former first lady added.

Melania went on to place blame on the media for how much anti-Trump coverage and hate seems to make its way on screen and to the front page.

"I had a lot of questions. What’s going on? This is not normal. And is it really shocking that all this egregious violence goes against my husband? Especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as a ‘threat to democracy,’ calling him vile names," she said.

The former first lady added, "They [are] only fueling a toxic atmosphere and giving power [to] all of these people that want to do harm to him."

She wants it to end

Melania Trump made it crystal clear that the violent rhetoric that seems to stir up the crazies needs to end immediately, for all sides.

"This needs to stop. This needs to stop. The country needs to unite," she argued.

Her interview comes just weeks before her new memoir hits bookshelves across the country.

The book is already breaking records with pre-sales.
