Attorney General Merrick Garland is the unnamed source whose testimony is being disputed by a whistleblower.
The revelation was made on Thursday concerning an IRS special agent.

"A lawyer for the whistleblower, Mark Lytle, sent the letter to multiple Senate and House committee heads," the Washington Examiner reported.
"It said Lytle’s client claimed to be a career IRS criminal supervisory special agent who has been overseeing 'the ongoing and sensitive investigation' of a 'high-profile' and 'controversial subject' since early 2020," it added.

"The whistleblower already made disclosures to the inspectors general of the Treasury and Justice departments," the New York Post reported.
"However, due to a quirk of federal law, he needs congressional approval to more fully describe his allegations to his own lawyers, which he wants to do before testifying to lawmakers," it added.

"In April 2022, Garland testified to Republican Sen. Bill Hagerty of Tennessee that there would be no 'interference of any political or improper kind' with regards to an investigation into Hunter Biden, and claimed that U.S. Attorney David Weiss of Delaware, a Trump appointee was the “supervisor” of the investigation and had full authority to bring charges," the Daily Caller wrote.
"He reiterated his promise to 'ensure [Weiss is] able to carry out his investigation' in testimony to Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa in March 2023," it added.
Garland's ties with the Hunter Biden investigation are among many controversies concerning the attorney genera.
The Biden administration official has been under attack by many Americans following his involvement in directing the FBI to investigate parents protesting in school board meetings. He has also been part of the growing discussion of the increased political involvement of the FBI under the Biden administration.
The latest report reveals that Garland is much more connected with the Hunter Biden investigation than he has admitted, according to the letter from the whistleblower. Conservatives are expected to press for more details as the GOP continues its investigation regarding the son of the president.
