During a recent interview, former First Lady Michelle Obama blamed pro-life legislation on "the devaluation of women."

According to The Irish News, Mrs. Obama’s comments were made this past week to BBC World Service gender and identity correspondent Megha Mohan.

"In the United States, we are dealing with a rollback in reproductive rights, things that people thought they could take for granted, things that my girls thought that they could take for granted that they would have the choice over their own reproductive health," she asserted.

"That has been rolled back and a lot of it is because of the devaluation of women, the belief that women don’t have choice and power over their own being," Mrs. Obama continued.

In a curious move, the former first lady then attempted to link those seeking to protect preborn babies with child sex traffickers.

"When a 10-year-old is sold off to an older man because her family is poor, it’s the same mentality (as the US), it’s the same carelessness, the same selfishness, the same greed and thoughtlessness that exists everywhere," Mrs. Obama continued.

Abortion clinic sued for failing to report child rape

"So you can’t just turn a blind eye to it because it’s not happening in your own backyard, because eventually that kind of attitude, it has a way of slipping and growing and feeding into all aspects of how we live as a humanity, as a human species," she said.

"It affects our humanity," the former first lady went on to insist before adding, "So we all have to care. That’s what I would say."

Interestingly, Mrs. Obama had little say about instances in which the abortion industry has helped to facilitate human trafficking and child sexual abuse.

According to The Washington Times, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains was sued in 2015 for not reporting the abortion it performed on Timothy Smith’s 13-year-old stepdaughter after he impregnated her.

Clinic manager offered to arrange abortions for child prostitutes

One staff member said in a deposition that "being thirteen and pregnant alone is not a red flag" at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.

This was despite the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services warning that it is a sign of abuse when a child under fourteen “becomes pregnant or contracts a venereal disease.”

Meanwhile, the pro-life group Live Action sent volunteers in 2011 to Planned Parenthood facilities while posing as human traffickers.

During a visit to Planned Parenthood Central New Jersey’s Perth Amboy center, clinic manager Amy Woodruff offered to arrange abortions on underage prostitutes who "can’t speak English" and wouldn't "know what’s going on."
