Miranda Divine slams Trump 'hush money' judge as a 'political hack'

While there's no verdict yet in the New York "hush money" case against former President Donald Trump, many believe that the only true verdict right now is that the judge overseeing the case is guilty of anti-Trump bias.

According to the New York Post's Miranda Divine, Manhattan Supreme Court Acting Justice Juan Merchan, the judge in charge of the trial, is a "political hack."

Divine isn't alone in her assessment of the judge, as many others have accused Merchan of leaning heavily towards the prosecution as the trial drags on.

She, and many others, believe that due to his daughter's anti-Trump activism and other questionable items in his past, Merchan should have recused himself from the case.

What'd she say?

Divine held nothing back in her criticism of the entire case and trial against Trump, and especially her thoughts on Judge Merchan.

"It’s clear to even Trump-deranged observers that Manhattan Supreme Court Acting Justice Juan Merchan is a political hack. He was cautioned last year by the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct over donations, albeit modest, to Biden and other Democrats."

She added, "His daughter, Loren Merchan, has been profiting from the trial through her consulting firm as her Democrat clients reportedly raise millions in campaign donations through emails citing the trial over which her father is presiding."

Divine went on to say that it would have been a "no-brainer" for Merchan to recuse himself from the case, adding, "and yet he refused, sullying the reputation of the New York legal system."

She slammed the judge for giving "free rein" to DA Alvin Bragg's star witness, Michael Cohen.

Aside from the salacious testimony by Stormy Daniels, Cohen's day on the stand generated a mountain of headlines, especially the fact that he admitted to stealing a large pile of money from the Trump Organization.

Election interference

Like many others, Divine also wrote about the sheer joy that President Joe Biden and his campaign are feeling as Trump is kept in the courtroom being bled of time and money as the 2024 election draws near.

"Joe Biden is salivating at the prospect of his political archrival being convicted in the Stormy Daniels hush money trial in Manhattan, with jury deliberations set to begin this week," Divine wrote.

She added, "If Donald Trump is found guilty in the first criminal prosecution of a former president, it will be a travesty of justice and a clear attempt to rig the 2024 presidential election."

The jury's verdict, whenever it's reached, will create a media firestorm one way or another, that's for sure.
