More classified docs discovered in Biden's Delaware home

Fox News reports that even more classified documents have just been found inside of President Joe Biden's Wilmington, Delaware, home.

Fox obtained information about this latest discovery of confidential documents on Saturday from Joseph D. Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick is an assistant U.S. attorney to John Lausch, the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.

Lausch is the Department of Justice (DOJ) official who was put in charge of investigating Biden's classified documents scandal before U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland upgraded the investigation into a special counsel investigation to be headed by Robert Hur.

The latest

According to Fitzpatrick, "on Jan. 20, 2023, the FBI executed a planned, consensual search of the President's residence in Wilmington, Delaware."

This is the same residence where two separate batches of classified documents had already been discovered from Biden's time as vice president. And, this is in addition to the classified documents that were found at Biden's private office at the Biden Penn Center in Washington D.C.

The search took place on Friday night at around 9:45 a.m. and it lasted for most of the day, not concluding until 10:30 p.m.

The details

It is not exactly clear what the FBI found on Biden's property. But, some more information about the search has been provided by Bob Bauer, Biden's personal attorney.

Bauer has revealed that Biden and the DOJ came to an agreement, after the previous discovery of classified documents at the Wilmington residence, to allow the DOJ to conduct a search of the premises "for potential vice-presidential records and potential classified material."

Bauer says that the DOJ, during the search, had access to everything.

Bauer revealed:

[The] DOJ took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President.

Biden was not present during the search, but, according to Bauer, members of his legal team and the White House Counsel's Officer were.

The backlash continues

This latest discovery has only intensified the backlash that Biden has been facing as a result of the classified documents scandal. Critics are noting the fact that more and more classified documents continued to be found in Biden's possession despite the fact that he and his people have claimed that no more documents would be found.

Critics also highlight the disparity in treatment between the DOJ's handing of this case and the DOJ's handling of the classified documents case involving former President Donald Trump.

Trump, following reports about the DOJ's search of Biden's house, said, "They created this Documents mess for themselves by being so totally DERANGED about me, and I did NOTHING WRONG!!!"
