Mother of Hunter Biden's daughter speaks out in NY Times article following child support settlement

Hunter Biden reached a settlement last week with Lunden Roberts, the mother of a 4-year-old girl they conceived together in 2018 and was linked to Biden by a 2019 DNA test, to end an ongoing dispute over court-ordered child support payments.

Roberts has now spoken out about the dispute and settlement in a rare interview with a national media outlet for an article that, whether intentional or not, portrayed President Joe Biden in a less than appealing light in relation to his illegitimate granddaughter in Arkansas, the Daily Caller reported.

The president, it has been noted, has seemingly gone out of his way to ignore, if not completely disavow, the innocent young child, which sharply undermines his increasingly dubious portrayal as a man intently focused on decency and unconditional love for his family.

Roberts speaks out for first time

According to The New York Times, Roberts hails from a Republican, Trump-supporting family of gun makers in rural Batesville, Arkansas, who met and was impregnated by Hunter Biden in 2018 while studying and working in Washington D.C., after which she was briefly on the payroll and health insurance of one of Biden's companies -- at least until he cut her off just after the child was born, which prompted the subsequent paternity and child support lawsuits.

With regard to the settlement of the child support dispute -- Biden had sought to reduce his monthly payments while Roberts sought to legally change the child's last name to "Biden" -- Roberts told the Times that "We worked it out amongst ourselves" in a recent discussion, and insisted, "We both want what is best for our daughter, and that is our only focus."

In the interview, she seemed careful to not disparage the Biden family, and said of her daughter, "She’s very proud of who her grandfather is and who her dad is. That is something that I would never allow her to think otherwise."

However, a recent Instagram post seemed to take a subtle shot at the Biden family that has essentially ignored the little girl's existence, as Roberts wrote, "I hope one day when you look back you find yourself proud of who you are, where you come from, and most importantly, who raised you."

Biden exposed for ignoring seventh grandchild

To its partial credit, The New York Times did expose the clear juxtaposition of President Biden's public persona as a caring family man with the manner in which he and his family have coldly disavowed and ignored the little girl in Arkansas who is the president's seventh grandchild.

"His public image is centered around his devotion to his family -- including to Hunter, his only surviving son. In strategy meetings in recent years, aides have been told that the Bidens have six, not seven, grandchildren, according to two people familiar with the discussions," the Times reported.

At another point, after highlighting how often Biden makes a big deal of mentioning or being with his children and grandchildren, the outlet noted, "But the president has not yet met or publicly mentioned his other grandchild. His White House has not answered questions about whether he will publicly acknowledge her now that the child support case is settled."

Yet, on the other hand, The Times also inordinately focused on the partisan leanings of Roberts' family and attorneys, and the article included one particularly egregious paragraph in relation to photos of Roberts and her daughter: "Seen through one prism, the photos are a powerful public testament of love from a mother to her daughter. Seen through another, they are exploitative, certainly from the perspective of Biden allies, who fear the images -- and the child -- are being weaponized against the Biden family."

Biden family disavowal of Arkansas girl "one of the saddest things"

The New York Post, which has closely followed the Biden-Roberts child support dispute, reported last week on some of the known terms of the partially redacted settlement agreement made public by the Arkansas court, in which certain financial terms of the agreement are sealed, and the outlet also included a pertinent quote from Roberts' attorney, Clint Lancaster, about the daughter named Navy Joan.

"Lunden is a great mom and little Navy is going be fine. The kid has lots of love on the maternal side of the family in Batesville. They are a very, very close family. They adore her and are always going to support her," Lancaster said last week. "But I think everybody is disappointed that there’s not more contact [with the Biden family]."

"It’s not lost on anybody that Jill Biden wrote a children’s book and [dedicated it] to her grandchildren. She could have kept it at that, but she named every child except Navy," the attorney added. "They hung stockings for the dog at Christmas but not for Navy. That is one of the saddest things."
