MSNBC analyst makes sick joke about Supreme Court justice dying near Titanic
An analyst for MSNBC is being criticized for making a joke about Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito dying near the Titanic shipwreck.
Elie Mystal made the remarks during a tweet Wednesday after the recent loss of five people in a submersible visiting the wreckage of the Titanic.

The response
“If a Fox News contributor publicly wished death on Sonia Sotomayor, the mainstream media (and quite possibly Fox News executives) would be calling for his head," wrote Free Beacon reporter Aaron Sibarium.
"Somehow I suspect Elie is safe at MSNBC,” wrote Free Beacon reporter Aaron Sibarium.

The problem
Several others on social media and in articles have criticized the move as vile or too far, calling for a response from Mystal.
Others have noted that the same words from a conservative against a liberal justice or leader would have resulted in brutal attacks from the left.

The latest attacks on Alito is one of many the justice has faced over the past year. He has also been targeted by many pro-abortion advocates, including demonstrators in front of his home last year over the court's decision to return abortion laws to states.
The sick joke by Mystal is one that is offensive not only to Alito but also to the families of those who lost their lives in the recent submersible that was lost at sea, killing five people.
