House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer made headlines last week when he announced that President Joe Biden opened a secret email account under a fake name during his time as vice president.

However, Biden was not the only figure who served under President Barack Obama to adopt this practice.

Use of aliases appears to have been common in the Obama years

In an article published this weekend, Breitbart pointed to five other Obama administration officials who created aliases for their email accounts.

One example is Lisa Jackson, who served as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency from 2009 and until 2013.

Shortly after she left office, the Washington Post cited a report from the Competitive Enterprise Institute which stated that Jackson "used an e-mail account associated with the pseudonym Richard Windsor to take online training programs on subjects including ethics, whistleblowers and records preservation."

The Federalist reported in 2017 that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch adopted the name "Elizabeth Carlisle" for an email account which she used to communicate about a meeting she had with former President Bill Clinton.

Obama used alias account to communicate with Hillary Clinton

The Los Angeles Times revealed in 2015 that former Attorney General Eric Holder used at least three aliases, with two of them being "Henry Yearwood" and "David Kendricks."

Politico reported that former President Obama had an account labeled as "Obama725" which he used to interact with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Finally, Breitbart noted that Clinton herself had email accounts titled "hdr22" and "hrod17," both of which came to light following an FBI investigation.

Meanwhile, Fox News announced last week that President Biden used the pseudonyms "Robin Ware," "Robert L. Peters" and "JRB ware" for accounts "that mixed official and family business."

House Oversight Committee seeking access to Biden emails

According to New York Post columnist Miranda, Chairman Comer has asked the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to release the contents of Biden's emails.

Of particular interest are messages which were copied to Hunter Biden along with his business partners Eric Schwerin and Devon Archer.

What's more, Comer also wants NARA to turn over all drafts of a speech the then-vice president delivered to Ukraine's parliament in 2015.
