Musk deletes tweets alleging Trump-Epstein wrongdoing
It appears that Elon Musk has decided to quietly delete two social media messages in which he alleged that President Donald Trump was implicated in convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's criminal behavior.
The Daily Mail reports that Musk deleted the messages towards the end of last week.
It is not immediately clear why Musk did so. It is being viewed as strange to many, especially considering what Musk actually wrote in the messages.
I was hired to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal lawyer 9 days before he died. He sought my advice for months before that. I can say authoritatively, unequivocally, and definitively that he had no information to hurt President Trump. I specifically asked him!

Background
This all has to do with the feud that recently escalated between Musk and Trump. It started off with Musk ruthlessly attacking Trump "big, beautiful bill," and it escalated when both Trump and Musk decided to get personal.
According to some, Musk took things a bit too far when he alleged that Trump was involved in Epstein's criminal activity.
Musk wrote:
Time to drop the really big bomb. @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!
He, however, did not stop there. Musk added, "Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out."
These, of course, are two very strong messages, which is why it is so puzzling to many that Musk decided to suddenly delete them.
The pushback
Following the release of these messages, Musk faced some serious pushback, including from people who support him. The general nature of the pushback was that this allegation against Trump is false.
This is supported, among other things, by a statement from Epstein's own lawyer, David Schoen.
Schoen posted a message, writing:
I was hired to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal lawyer 9 days before he died. He sought my advice for months before that. I can say authoritatively, unequivocally, and definitively that he had no information to hurt President Trump. I specifically asked him!
He added, "I can tell you unequivocally as someone who would know that President Trump never did anything wrong with Jeffrey Epstein."
President Trump reposted the first message, but, other than this, Trump has been very quiet about the allegation - as has Musk. There are calls now for Trump to release the Epstein files to clear his name. It is unclear whether or not the administration will do so.
