Musk may be done with DOGE, but DOGE continues

Even though Elon Musk is moving on, it appears that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will continue its mission of finding and eliminating government waste, fraud, and abuse.

Fox News reports that Musk is confident that DOGE will continue to succeed at its mission.

This is one of two narratives that are being pushed about DOGE.

First, we will look at the narrative being pushed by the mainstream media and many on the left. Then, we will look at the narrative being pushed by Musk, President Donald Trump, and the administration.

DOGE failed, and Musk was shown the door

The mainstream media is trying to paint DOGE as a failure and it is trying to claim that, behind closed doors, there has been conflict between Musk and the Trump administration - conflict that may have left to Musk's removal.

Musk was a special government employee, and his time recently came to an end, as it is a job that you are only allowed to keep for about 130 days.

In the past week, the mainstream media has exploded with alleged Musk stories. There was one report claiming that Musk has a drug habit. There's another claiming that he got into a physical altercation with Secretary Scott Bessent, and so on.

These reports have tried to claim that Trump and his administration are not happy with Musk's efforts with DOGE, as the group has come nowhere near the trillions of dollars that Musk claimed it could save. And, the reports have claimed that there is more to Musk's departure than the elapsing of his stint as a special government employee.

Trump and Musk, however, have squashed just about every one of these reports.

DOGE has succeeded, and it will only get better

This is the narrative being pushed by Musk and the Trump administration.

Musk has specifically stated that he expected DOGE to only become more successful over time, suggesting that the group could save $1 trillion in the next year or so.

Musk said:

The DOGE influence will only grow stronger. I liken it to a sort of person of Buddhism. It's like a way of life so it is permeating throughout the government. And I'm confident that over time, we'll see $1 trillion of savings, and a reduction in $1 trillion of waste, fraud reduction.

President Trump agreed, and he has praised Musk for his efforts. Not only that, but the president made it clear that Musk will remain one of his special advisors.

It is up to you to decide which narrative is more credible. One thing worth noting is that neither Musk nor Trump is the type of person to hide the fact that they dislike somebody. Would they really be this cordial to each other if they are parting on bad terms?
